چکیده
Article type: Review Article Infantile Haemangiomas (IH) are the most common vascular tumors occurring in early childhood, with a prevalence of approximately 510% of infants. These vascular tumors are divided into two main groups including; infantile haemangioma and vascular malformations. Although, haemangioma of infancy are common, benign and selflimited tumors, a significant percent of these lesions are associated with substantial morbidity in infancy and childhood. All currently used treatments have significant risks. Dramatic improvement of complicated haemangioma of infancy to propranolol was recently reported. Here in, we review infantile haemangioma as a whole with focus on the therapeutic efficacy of systemic and topical propranolol as a betablockers for the management of infantile haemangioma. Association of infantile cutaneous haemangioma on the face and neck with respiratory distress in infancy.
Sir, Infantile haemangioma is a fairly common vascular tumour of the skin in infancy. In contrast, infantile subglottic haemangioma is rare, accounting for about 1.5% of all congenital laryngeal anomalies (1). However, it often causes stridor in infancy and sometimes leads to life-threatening respiratory distress (2). We report here a case of infantile haemangiomas on the face, neck and chest t...

AIMS Infantile haemangioma is a tumour of the microvasculature characterised by aggressive angiogenesis during infancy and spontaneously gradual involution, often leaving a fibro-fatty residuum. AIM To investigate whether extracutaneous infantile haemangioma-like tumours are immunohistochemically similar to cutaneous infantile haemangiomas. METHODS Mammary, salivary gland, liver (one each), and placental (two cases) capillary haemangiomas and typical examples of cutaneous (eight cases) infantile haemangioma were investigated immunohistochemically for alpha smooth muscle actin and Glu...

OBJECTIVES Placenta or placental chorangioma could be the origin site of infantile haemangioma since they share various histochemical and genetic characteristics with placental vascular tissue. The aim of the current study was to investigate the association between chorangiomas and infantile haemangiomas in singleton and multiple pregnancies. MATERIALS AND METHODS An informative questionnaire...
متن کاملModerate size infantile haemangioma of the neck – conservative or surgical treatment? : a case report
INTRODUCTION Infantile haemangioma is the commonest benign tumour in infancy. While the management of the majority of small haemangiomas consists of simply watching or steroid treatment, giant and moderate size infantile haemangiomas are challenging problems, especially in health systems with limited resources in developing countries. CASE PRESENTATION A one-year old boy was presented to us b...
